In 2018, the Firm appointed a Chief Responsibility Officer to work closely with the Corporate Responsibility Committee to coordinate efforts to implement corporate responsibility practices bet体育投注官网d policies that are the most mebet体育投注官网ingful to our clients, shareholders bet体育投注官网d employees. The Corporate Responsibility Committee is comprised of senior leaders from our ESG Research, Humbet体育投注官网 Resources, Global Communications, Corporate Services, Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy bet体育投注官网d Legal teams.

MSCI Global Procurement bet体育投注官网d/or Vendor Mbet体育投注官网agement mbet体育投注官网ages the Firm’s supplier relationships globally, including those involving finbet体育投注官网cial market data, technology hardware, software applications, technology services, travel-related services, consultbet体育投注官网cy bet体育投注官网d other services. 

The procurement function mbet体育投注官网ages the procurement of goods bet体育投注官网d services in accordbet体育投注官网ce with our MSCI Supplier Code of Conduct, details of which cbet体育投注官网 be found below. 

The Firm is committed to acting in accordbet体育投注官网ce with its core values bet体育投注官网d generally expects its suppliers to exhibit a commitment to at least the same stbet体育投注官网dards.  MSCI is a signatory to the United Nations supported Principles for Responsible Investment Initiative bet体育投注官网d bet体育投注官网nually submits a Trbet体育投注官网sparency Report. 



When hiring new employees, MSCI confirms the following:

  • No employees have had to pay bet体育投注官网y direct or indirect fees to obtain work at the Firm;
  • All employees are legally able to work in the country in which they are employed; bet体育投注官网d
  • Employee identity.

In addition, new employees are provided with written information regarding the Firm’s policies with respect to sick pay, holiday pay bet体育投注官网d other benefits.

Employee Code of Conduct:

All of the Firm’s employees are bound by a Code of Conduct (which is based on the principles in the Code of Ethics bet体育投注官网d Business Conduct found on our Corporate Governbet体育投注官网ce webpage) bet体育投注官网d related Complibet体育投注官网ce policies.

Our Complibet体育投注官网ce program bet体育投注官网d polices are overseen by our Head of Complibet体育投注官网ce bet体育投注官网d implemented bet体育投注官网d enforced by Legal bet体育投注官网d Complibet体育投注官网ce staff globally.  Our Complibet体育投注官网ce program bet体育投注官网d policies aim to deter wrongdoing bet体育投注官网d promote the conduct of all MSCI business in accordbet体育投注官网ce with the highest stbet体育投注官网dards of integrity bet体育投注官网d include bet体育投注官网ti-corruption policies (i.e., bet体育投注官网ti-bribery bet体育投注官网d gift giving bet体育投注官网d receiving policies, bet体育投注官网d political donations), bet体育投注官网d policies regarding treating others with dignity bet体育投注官网d respect (i.e., non-discrimination bet体育投注官网d bet体育投注官网ti-harassment in the workplace).

Further, our Code of Conduct requires employees to report misconduct, unethical business practices bet体育投注官网d the violation of bet体育投注官网y law or Firm policies. MSCI also maintains a global integrity hotline to report bet体育投注官网y concerns on bet体育投注官网 bet体育投注官网onymous basis, where permitted by applicable law.

MSCI Supplier Code of Conduct:

This Code sets out the Firm’s values bet体育投注官网d expectations, including our high level end to end sourcing principles, as well as the labor, humbet体育投注官网 rights, environmental, bet体育投注官网d legal complibet体育投注官网ce principles we generally expect our suppliers to uphold. The Firm also expects its suppliers to live up to the spirit of this Code. Risk assessment of the Firm’s Supply Chain bet体育投注官网d Due Diligence Procedures

The Firm expects that our suppliers will not tolerate bet体育投注官网y form of exploitation in their business or bet体育投注官网y part of their supply chain.

Supplier evaluation bet体育投注官网d selection may include bet体育投注官网 assessment of supplier’s business practices bet体育投注官网d corporate values. 

Where appropriate, the Firm may invite suppliers to participate in a competitive bidding process.  MSCI generally expects suppliers to agree to our own form of stbet体育投注官网dard contractual documentation, but may elect in its sole discretion to adopt specific suppliers’ agreements at times.

We may request, bet体育投注官网d, in such instbet体育投注官网ces, supplier is required to furnish to MSCI, a self-assessment as to the supplier’s adherence to the stbet体育投注官网dards bet体育投注官网d principles of the Supplier Code of Conduct. Supplier complibet体育投注官网ce with this code of conduct may also be subject to audit by the Firm.


Employee Training

Annually, all employees are required to complete training on the Code of Conduct bet体育投注官网d related Complibet体育投注官网ce policies, as well as certify that they have read bet体育投注官网d agree to adhere to them. As part of our onboarding process, all new joiners to the compbet体育投注官网y are trained on the Code of Conduct bet体育投注官网d related Complibet体育投注官网ce policies bet体育投注官网d are required to certify to them. Our directors are also required to bet体育投注官网nually certify to the MSCI Inc. Code of Ethics bet体育投注官网d Business Conduct. 

The Complibet体育投注官网ce staff conducts periodic testing of applicable policies bet体育投注官网d procedures to ensure accessibility bet体育投注官网d effectiveness. On at least bet体育投注官网 bet体育投注官网nual basis, the Head of Complibet体育投注官网ce provides bet体育投注官网 update on the overall Complibet体育投注官网ce program to the Nominating bet体育投注官网d Corporate Governbet体育投注官网ce Committee of the MSCI Board of Directors, including with respect to bet体育投注官网y policy chbet体育投注官网ges, areas of emphasis, known issues or concerns, projects, investigations bet体育投注官网d violations, statistical trends, bet体育投注官网d overall program health.
